Hello! I really appreciate raising this concern. Managing time especially with multiple tasks could be very overwhelming. I recommend practicing: 1. Task prioritization - Eizenhower matrix in order to categorize your tasks based on (a) Urgent and Important (meetings/tasks with shorter deadlines, etc), (b) Important but not Urgent (tasks that need to be completed today but can be scheduled for later), (c) Urgent but not important (Can be delegated to someone else or some other time), (d) Not urgent and Not important (List them down and forget! Eliminate from today's routine to have better clarity) 2. 2 Minute rule: Complete all the small tasks that take just 2 minutes or even less. 3. Avoid Multitasking: Focus on one thing at a time and try following Pomodoro technique in order to reduce boredom and stress while completing the task on time. 4. Take appropriate breaks and practice mindfulness/interest based activities for refreshing your mind.

Feeling uneasy since a few days. Feeling uncomfortable while sleeping, relaxing or even sitting ideal. What can be done?

Hello! Thank you for sharing how you feel currently. I completely understand this must be very uncomfortable. Before working on the solution, we first need to understand and identify as to what is the reason behind this feeling. I reccomend practicing Guided body scan meditation or Guided Progressive muscle relaxation first in order to remove any kind of physical tension and clear the mind. Then start with reflecting upon last 15-30 days and list the factors/situations that might have been distrubing and difficult for you. After the identification of these stressors, you will be able to figure out what exactly is the problem and we can work on that or take professional help accordingly. Meanwhile, try practicing 54321 grounding technique, movement based/physical exercises for better engagement and activity, sleep hygiene and take care of your diet and hydration.

Focus on your sleeping routine and practice sleep hygiene (proper night care rotuine at least 30 minutes before going to bed). It will help you to unwind your mind, feel refreshed and be more productive ultimately. Finally, take a vacation/trip outside, hang out with friends and family often and add some interest based activities in your day to day routine.

Hello! Thank you for sharing. In order to improve the work-life balance and productivity, we first need to identify the factors responsible for the same. After that, we need to focus upon mental freshness in order to rejuvinate yourself. You can try to list down factors/stressors that might be affecting you from last 3-4 weeks, at workplace, in personal life or related to friends and family. You can also try journaling where you can simply note down your thoughts related to points such as: "What are thre signs that tell you are out of balance?' or "What do I feel is missing currently in my life?" Try engaging yourself into mindfulness based activities such as Progressive Muscle Relaxation/Guided body scan meditation for engaging your senses and focusing on relaxation. Practice Box breathing every morning and before sleeping (3-5 times). Indulge yourself into physical activities and exercises like Mindful walking, mindful movement, yoga, exercises etc.

I understand how you feel. It gets really tough when things become overwhelming or monotonous. It can result into feelings of stress, worry and irritation. Sometimes taking a step back and breaking things down into smaller, manageable parts can help here. 1) Practice mindfulness and relaxation based activities such as, body scan, deep breathing and guided meditation. 2) Practice self care: Night/morning care routine, listening to music, exercise, taking walks in the nature, etc. 3) Try to pinpoint the things.factors that might be causing you this pressure. 4) Prioritize and schedule those things accordingly so that it can give you more clarity. 5) Seek professional help/therapy in case you feel these feelings persist for more than a month or two.

Hi, first of all thankyou for reaching out. It takes a lot of courage to speak up on these things and you did it, amazing! As far as your question is concerned, yes this is absolutely normal. Getting separated from a persona you were attached with could be emotionally draining. Giving yourself some space and spending as much time as possible with self are the best ways to manage this feeling. 1. Practice self care: Get as much sleep as possible, eat what you like and try to listen to some good music of your choice. These things will help you relax and acknowledge your feelings. 2. Take a break for yourself: Practice body scan/meditation before sleeping, take a walk in the nature and try some other interest based activitites in order to boost your self-esteem. 3. Journaling: Note down your thoughts and feelings in order to help yourself express freely. 4. Practice positive Self talk.

Spend as much time as possible with yourself and keep repeating - 1. "I deserve this time for myself, as I do a lot of productive work." 2. "This is a small investment for my long-term success." 3. Hello, I completely understand what you must be feeling like. A few months back I was also in the same state. It felt like I had become numb and my mind was not able to process any information or engage in any kind of activities. In fact, I also lost interest in my day to day tasks and started feeling very overwhelmed and lost. Usually, this state of numbness can be a result of a burnout or may be too many tasks to focus at once! Practicing Mindfulness and taking out time for Self helps a lot in such cases. It will make you feel refreshed and lighter leading to an increased positivity and enhanced focus. Try to practice Body scan or Jacobson's Progressive Muscle relaxation technique (guided) it will help a lot in physically removing tension and opening up your senses. Also, try to go for a mindful walk, dancing and listening to some up beat music. Also, prepare a self-care routine for yourself, you can also take help from some self-care calendars and follow a weekly or monthly challeng

First of all, thanks for reaching out. What you’re going through is not easy. The decision to only work on yourself is respected. What you can start with is: journaling, journal about the ideal state you want to reach, the better version of you and a plan to reach there. What are the micro habits you can choose. Second, body movement will help, becoming more mobile helps reduce overthinking & negative thoughts, you can probably start with a 10 mins walk each day it will help you gain clarity, kickstart well & change the environment and reduce triggers. You might have to push yourself more initially. Third, explore activities/ hobbies that may seem close to bringing happiness and start pursuing them, creativity helps in secreting positive hormones which will uplift your mood. Most importantly, connect with people. Socializing helps in feeling connected especially since your struggling with marital disconnect.

Hi. These could be signs of an overactive nervous system. An overactive nervous system is caused by chronic stress or anxiety, which can lead to the body's "fight or flight" response becoming constant. This can further lead to physical symptoms including overthinking, restlessness and inability to calm down. This is not a condition, but the root cause of many psychological disturbances including sleep disturbances. In layman’s language, your body & mind are overactive and find it difficult to calm down. Even when you try to rest, the body & mind does let you relax & rest.

Avatar

For this you can first try to physically exert to tire the body. Your brain & body will naturally search for rest then, consider running, zumba, workout or gym for this. Next, you need to train your nervous system to relax at night, for that practice sleep hygiene, relaxation techniques like deep breathing, Progressive muscle relaxation. Simultaneously visit the right doctor to understand if it can be some other problem and get it treated.

Hi. First of all, more power to you for having the strength to go through this everyday & seeking help. Its not easy to work in a high stress environment which leaves less space for self care. I would like to reflect on how you mentioned that others around you are able to manage with the stressful environment at work and would request you to analyze if you’re having problems with setting boundaries, especially personal & is there a possibility that you could be personalizing things to the level that you find it difficult to calm down and end up beating yourself up for all the mistakes you make or can make (which are assumptions as of now). This could be very harmful to your Mental health especially if it combines with lack of Self acceptance & Self forgiveness.

Avatar

I think the first thing you can do is, practice self acceptance & self forgiveness by controlling the controllables & not the uncontrollables. Second, I could sense constant reflection on “what i could not do”, consciously reflecting on things that “I could do” will help improve your mental health & boost confidence to create resilience. Third, constant worries can eat up our present moment even if there’s no problem in the present, try to identify how many of your worries could be assumptions & try relaxation practices for nervous system regulation. Set boundaries in your workplace and be mindful of what thoughts are harming you. If this doesn't help, seeking therapy would be very beneficial

Hi. Struggling with tinnitus is difficult especially with the discomfort it brings along with anxiety & sleep related issues. It's best to consult a doctor, as there can be misinformation that can make the problem worse. Relaxation helps with Anxiety and insomia, you can try relaxation exercises as they have no side effects. These exercises include: Deep breathing: Taking a long deep breath in for th count of 5, holding the breath for the count of 5 and exhaling for the count of 5. Try to direct your focus on the breath repeatedly. Meditation Guided imagery/ visualization can help you bring the focus on relaxation from the ringing in ears Therapy can help you with the symptoms related to Anxiety and insomnia. It's best to get the mental health challenges diagnosed first, followed by the right treatment from the right professional. Take care!

Hi, A Mental health professional is the best person to make a diagnosis, you will get clarity upon whether it’s anxiety itself or something else and measures can be taken accordingly. Also, I have anxiety myself, and I too struggle with mood swings. Anxiety makes us have negative thoughts, paints the worst case scenarios and leads to extreme emotions because of these negative thoughts. Meditation and regulating my thoughts helped me, everytime I started having negative thoughts, instead of believing them I started analyzing how true they actually are, that helped me get to the gray area of life which helped me with my mood swings also. We can build these skills in therapy which is highly recommended to you. Therapy helps in building all the skills you mentioned, from regulating thoughts, overthinking & emotions, it helps in managing expectations and boundaries.

Hi. I can only imagine how it must be hurting you. Since you have mentioned, you know he is cheating on you, i'm hoping that you have enough concrete evidence. I can understand your condition however I would like to highlight that staying in the same situation and letting things be as they are wont help, rather cause more harm in the longer run. Acceptance is the first step in helping oneself. You can also choose therapy to help you in this difficult time, or if your partner would be open to work on the relationship, you can also consider couple therapy. Please know that you’re not alone and help is always around. Its okay to seek help especially when we’re not in the right place to make the right decisions.

I think what matters the most is how we speak to ourselves, because when we have a negative voice in our heads, we keep overly focussing on all the things that we aren’t doing, making us feel even more sad & guilty. You can try practicing gratitude, practices like “5 good things about my day” will help you focus on what you are doing and make you feel accomplished, breaking the cycle of feeling worthless. You can also practice socialising, practicing hobbies &focussing on your strengths. This will help you feel happier. Also, Slipping and curling in bed is not bad unless you’re doing this excessively. If there’s excess, try contacting a professional

Try practicing grounding technique of mindfulness (5.4.3.2.1 technique) a couple of times before sitting to study & you may also do deep breathing for 5 mins before studying to calm down the nervous system. Hello. I understand that you're deeply exhausted and feeling disconnected too. It hurts when things are not working out our way. I could find certain patterns which are unhelpful & derogatory to your mental health such as: the constant comparison with others makes us view our life in a negative light constantly which not only contributes to the feeling of depression but also affects our self perception & confidence, you've been through a lot emotionally but it seems you also have been avoiding your difficult emotions it constantly by procrastinating (temporarily avoiding stress), binge watching & over-sleeping. Avoidance of negative emotions leads psycho-somatic problems which is another thing you have mentioned to be experiencing. Also, what I'm understanding is that the distress is not only happening from you life events but also your constant negative thoughts, comparison, avoidance are heavily contributing to the emotional burnout, anxiety & feelings of depression.

Hi. The stress is real. We often find ourselves helpless when we have a passive or aggressive approach to others, where we're either not able to take our stand & voice up our concerns (passive) or we lash out & become rude (aggressive). Between these 2 extreme swings comes Assertiveness which is the best way to solve problems. you can read about it, also try setting healthy boundaries at work & voice your needs in an assertive manner.

Hey, if it is concerning you in such a extreme level, try to take some days off. We all feel overwhelmed by work somedays or the other! If it does not help, confront your manager about the problems that you are facing and if he/she does not make changes in their behaviour, look for another job or something that makes you feel good. These difficult emotions you're experiencing are temporary, and with the right support and strategies, you can overcome them. If you ever feel overwhelmed by thoughts of suicide, please reach out to a mental health professional, a trusted friend, or a helpline. It's not easy to go through such a prolonged period of loneliness, depression, and anxiety. I can imagine how exhausting and overwhelming it must be to feel like you're stuck in a routine that, on the surface, brings comfort but deep down leaves you feeling trapped. The truth is, your feelings are valid, and it's okay to seek help and support. I've been there, and I understand how hard it is to break out of a routine that feels like a safe haven, even if it's not entirely healthy. Change can be terrifying, but it can also be the path to healing and a brighter future. It's essential to prioritize your mental well-being. It's important to remember that these feelings can be overwhelming, but you don't have to face them alone. Reach out to friends or family members and let them know what you're going through. Sometimes, sharing your emotions with someone you trust can provide immediate relief. In addition, consider engaging in activities that can help lighten your mood, such as going for a walk, practicing mindfulness, or even just taking some time for yourself to relax and recharge. However, if these feelings persist or worsen, it's crucial to seek professional help. A mental health expert can provide you with the guidance and support needed to navigate these challenging emotions. I admire your courage in sharing your thoughts on this sensitive topic. Your perspective highlights your empathy and open-mindedness. It's essential to challenge societal norms that can be limiting and harmful. My advice would be to continue advocating for change and be a voice for those who may not yet have the opportunity to express their feelings on this matter. By fostering conversations and spreading awareness, you're contributing to a more inclusive and understanding society. Keep being true to your values and beliefs, and remember that your outlook can inspire positive change in the world.

It's completely okay to feel the way you do. Loneliness and anxiety can be tough. One step you can take is to reach out to a therapist or counselor who can provide guidance on managing these feelings. Another approach is to join online communities centered around your interests, where you can connect with like-minded people. Start small in building social connections, perhaps by engaging in brief online interactions. Consider volunteering for local organizations, as it's a great way to meet new people while also giving back to your community. Regular exercise, even just going for walks or practicing yoga at home, can help reduce anxiety and improve your mood. If anxiety is making it hard to go to work or carry out daily activities, seeking professional help is important. Remember to be kind to yourself during this journey and avoid self-criticism. You're not alone in facing these challenges, and there is support available.

While you may not have friends nearby, you can stay connected with your supportive cousin or anyone else you trust, even if they’re not perfect. Sometimes, having someone to talk to can make a significant difference in how you feel. If possible, consider joining local clubs or social groups based on your interests. This can be a great way to meet new people who share your passions and make friends. You can also explore online forums and communities related to your hobbies or interests. Engaging in discussions online can be a way to connect with like-minded individuals and build friendships. Continue attending your music class, as it seems to be a positive outlet for you. Over time, you may naturally develop friendships with fellow musicians also Prioritize self-care activities, such as meditation, exercise, and maintaining a healthy diet. I agree to the previous comment and want to add that you can consider involving a family counselor or therapist. They can provide a neutral and safe space where all parties can express themselves freely, and a professional can help facilitate constructive communication. Remember, it might take time, patience, and multiple conversations to bridge these gaps. But the willingness to address the issue is a positive step towards improving your relationship with your parents. Take care, and I hope things get better for you.

Hey, I appreciate that you took your first step. It's brave to seek help and try to bridge communication gaps. It's clear that you care deeply about your relationship with your parents and want to improve it. Firstly, know that you're not alone in facing challenges with family communication. It's not uncommon for generational differences and misunderstandings to arise. You've already taken the first step by reflecting on your feelings and situation. Understanding your own emotions and reactions can help you better communicate with your parents. Try to have an open and honest conversation with your parents. Express your feelings calmly and respectfully. Share your desire for a better relationship and your willingness to listen to their perspective. When you talk to your parents, make an effort to actively listen to their side of the story. Understand their concerns and reasons behind their actions. This can create empathy and a better understanding of each other.

While it's natural to feel hurt and cautious after going through difficult situations, please know that not everyone is the same. When you're ready, take the time to heal and focus on your own well-being. Trust your instincts, and don't settle for anything less than a healthy and meaningful connection. Surround yourself with supportive friends and family, and consider seeking professional guidance if needed. Remember, you're not defined by your past experiences, and there's hope for brighter days ahead.

The only thing that I can suggest you is that give it some time, maintain a little distance, allow yourself to heal. I'm really sorry to hear about the loss of your uncle and the difficulties you and your mother are experiencing. Dealing with the fear of death and the loss of loved ones is a challenging and deeply personal process, but here are a few suggestions that may help you cope: Acknowledge your feelings: It's completely normal to feel overwhelmed, sad, and fearful after the loss of a loved one. Allow yourself to experience these emotions and understand that it's part of the grieving process. Talk to someone: Share your feelings with a trusted friend, family member, or therapist. Talking about your fears and concerns can provide emotional support and help you process your thoughts. Additionally, speaking with your mother about her feelings may also bring you closer and offer mutual comfort. Seek professional help: Consider reaching out to a grief counselor or therapist who specializes in bereavement. They can provide guidance and offer coping strategies tailored to your specific situation.

Overthinking in a relationship can be detrimental to both you and your partner. It can cause unnecessary stress, anxiety, and tension, and can also lead to misunderstandings and conflict. Here are some tips to help you stop overthinking in a relationship: Identify your triggers: Try to identify the situations or thoughts that trigger your overthinking. This can help you be more aware of when it's happening and take steps to stop it. Focus on the present moment: Instead of dwelling on the past or worrying about the future, focus on the present moment. Pay attention to what's happening in your relationship right now, and try to enjoy the moment. Communicate with your partner: If you're feeling anxious or insecure, talk to your partner about your concerns. This can help clear up misunderstandings and reassure you that everything is okay. I'm sorry to hear that you've been feeling anxious and struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts lately. It's important to take care of yourself and seek support during this time. It's understandable that you're feeling guilty and upset about crossing your friend's boundary, and it's commendable that you apologized to her. Moving forward, it's important to respect her boundaries and be mindful of how your words and actions can impact others, especially in sensitive areas. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about these things, but it's important to remember that everyone has their own timeline and there's no one "right" way to live your life. It's okay if you're not ready for marriage yet, and it's okay if the person you love isn't settled yet. What matters most is that you're both happy and supporting each other's growth. As for your desire for independence, that's a great goal to have. It's important to have a sense of autonomy and control over your life. It's great that you have a passive income, and starting your own business could be a great way to achieve greater financial independence. However, it's important to also be realistic about the challenges and risks involved in starting a business. In terms of feeling dependent on your partner, it might be helpful to explore why that is and work on building your own confidence and decision-making skills. This could involve seeking out therapy or counseling to work through any underlying is

There could be many reasons why some parents may have these attitudes towards their daughter's marriage. Every family is different and there can be a variety of cultural, social, and personal factors that influence these beliefs and behaviours. Due to generational gap some parents may hold traditional or conservative values that prioritise marriage as an important milestone in a woman's life, and they may feel social pressure from their own family and friends circle to ensure their daughter is married at a certain age. Additionally, some parents may view their daughter's marriage as a way to secure her future and ensure her financial stability. However, it's important for parents to understand that their daughter's happiness and autonomy should be their top priority. It's crucial for parents to have open and honest conversations with their daughter about her feelings and goals for her future, and to respect her choices and desires. Ultimately, parents should strive to create a safe a

I feel lost too. I feel like my life is not going anywhere, I don’t have a career, I have only two friends , that too I don’t have anyone to share my problems with, I’ve made far too many mistakes in college, didn’t make friends when I could, didn’t sit for the job placement , right after 12th, I was getting a job in a hotel itc, I refused in my want to go to a college, ans in college also, after college got over, no job. And till now, unable to do anything for myself, I am worried about my future, always anxious as to what will happen, worried that I might not have money, and also feel like I have no purpose left in life, I feel lonely too

Working under pressure and anxiety can effect your rational thinking. Don’t be so stressed about taking a decision and worry about it. Relax and close your eyes and take deep breaths before taking any recession is your life , this will help you calm down and make logical and rational thinking Even after this you’re making a mistake , so maintain a diary or a note and write down your past mistakes and the correct answer to it. Then in future before taking a decision read it. This’ll help you surely

Life always comes with so many ups and downs... Everyone is going through something. About an year ago, I have gone through the same phase as yours. you just need some space and time and everything will be all right. You are bigger than this situation, you just need to take the steering wheel of your life on your hand which is controlled by your emotions. Mark my words, you will get over with this very soon.

Looks like you have worked so much on yourself in those days, and what's the most important thing that helped you is your faith on yourself. it's just a begining, there is so much to accomplish. All the best for your future endeavours!
